Cocoa Beach Insider

Up until today, I have been focusing on the Cocoa Beach murals that are located outside of buildings so that you can easily find them while driving, going for a walk or run, or biking through our town. I thought it might encourage a little more outdoor activity since there are quite a few outdoor murals in the Cocoa Beach area. Then I popped into the Cocoa Beach library to pick up a book and saw Rick Piper’s latest creation inside the library’s lobby and knew I needed to make an exception for this weeks #MuralMonday.

I heard a few weeks ago from a Facebook post that Rick Piper was working on a mural at the Cocoa Beach library, but I had no idea exactly what the piece would look like. There was a picture of Rick painting, but not a clear shot of what to expect or that it was located in the library’s entrance. Last week I saw this post from Rick Piper’s facebook page:

My HUGE, Dual Wall, Original Fine Art, Public Art Mural in the Cocoa Beach Public Library is almost finished. This is a Legacy Artwork for me, Created over 5 months for the Enjoyment and Inspiration of All people who enter the Library. This Piece is Titled “Island Vista Duet”.

Rick Piper has done a lot of work throughout the city and has a studio in downtown Cocoa Beach at 251 Minutemen Cswy. in the Mai Tiki Market near the Tiny Turtle Restaurant and the Fat Donkey Ice Cream Shop.
