If you are planning a move to somewhere in Brevard County Florida, I am certain that Viera has popped up in your searches. In this article, I would like to introduce you to this section of the Space Coast called Viera.

What is Viera? Viera is a master planned community featuring 70+ communities that consist of single family homes, condominiums, townhomes, half duplexes, and apartment complexes. Designed to have town centers and “walkable” communities. The planned community is set up with plenty of sidewalks and paths connecting the neighborhoods along with parks, greenspace, and lakes in and around the community.

Viera is home to the Brevard Zoo, the Viera Wetlands, and several golf courses (Duran’s 18 hole, Duran’s 9 hole par 3 course, and Viera East Golf Club). Brevard County’s government center, Harriet T Moore Justice Center (the courthouse) and Brevard County School Board are also located in Viera.

Viera has several Sport Complexes. The Viera Regional Park offers softball, baseball and soccer fields along with tennis and basketball courts. They also have a gymnasium, playgrounds and a community center. Viera is also home to USSSA sports complex that has 15 astro turf fields that include 5 for NCAA softball, 5 for NCAA baseball, and 3 fields equipped with a video scoreboard. Where is Viera? It is centrally located in Brevard County on the mainland between exit 188 and exit 195 of I-95. The interstate is the border between the East Viera and the West Viera. The section of Viera that is North of Viera Blvd is Rockledge (32955) and the section South of Viera Blvd is Melbourne (32940).

Why would you want to live in Viera? If having a newer home is important to you, the oldest home in Viera was built in 1989. Most of the home sales in Viera are homes built in 2010 or newer. There is brand new construction happening throughout Viera. If you are looking for a 55+ community, Viera has 4 communities to choose from.

If you like outdoor activities, Viera is fantastic. Just drive through the area and you will see runners & walkers, people on bikes, and dogs getting walked. You have parks, basketball & tennis courts in a lot of the communities.

If you like watching nature, you will be surprised to see what the lakes & ponds attract. You will see the sandhill cranes, anhingas, ibis, storks, and snowy egrets on a regular basis. You will see turtles, otters, and maybe a little gator in the water. A great spot to visit to see wildlife would be the Viera Wetlands.

There is great shopping, there are plenty of restaurants and places to have an assortment of beverages. Since you are in the center of Brevard County, you have easy access to all that the county has to offer. Pineda Causeway connects you to the beaches. There are 4 access points to US1 and to I-95 in Viera to get anywhere in the State.

As you can see, Viera does have a lot to offer and there is a reason this section of Brevard County is growing so fast.
