Starting at the North end of Brevard County, we have the Indian River Preserve Golf Course and community in Mims Florida. Formerly known as Walkabout Golf Club, Indian River Preserve Golf Club features an 18-hole golf course co-designed by renowned golf course architect Perry Dye and LPGA champion Jan Stephenson. With five sets of tees, the par 72 golf course provides golfers of all abilities with plenty of challenges surrounded by serene lakes and nature preserves. The properties in this golfing community are fairly new, with the oldest homes being built in 2005 up to new construction that is happening today. Most of the properties are single-family homes with townhomes that are being built today. Located at the west end of the Minutemen Causeway on the Banana River, that features a 27 hole golf course giving you options to play 18 holes. You also have options as to what type of property to consider. There are townhomes, condos, and single-family homes on the golf course OR you can live in the Cocoa Beach Country Club community and have a home or condo on the Banana River. The 6,450 yard/Par 72 Gordon Lewis design will challenge you while providing a relaxing, picturesque backdrop. Look around and you will notice nature’s splendor on display as many water and land birds, reptiles, and low country mammals make the Savannahs Golf Club their home. The proximity to the Space Center, you will feel the rockets rumble living here or teeing off. The Savannahs Golfing community are all single-family homes built from 1990 to new construction. The oldest city in Brevard County also is home to Brevard County’s oldest golf course, the Rockledge Country Club; which has been in existence since 1918. The golf course and country club are surrounded by mostly condos that were built in the 1980s and single-family homes built between the 1960s to mid 1990s. Rockledge is also home to the Turtle Creek Golf Club and has been part of the Rockledge golfing community since the 1970s and was designed by Robert Renaud, a golf course architect who worked throughout the Southeast and particularly in Tennessee. It’s a heavily landscaped, traditional Old Florida course with well-manicured fairways and NEW Champions Bermuda Greens. Because the fairways wind through well-wooded fairways, your club selection will be crucial. You’ll definitely find a use for almost every club in your bag at the Creek. As for the options to live on or near Turtle Creek, you have a couple. In the late 1970s through the 1980s, it was mostly townhomes or single-family homes. In the early 2000s, Augusta Trace at Turtle Creek single-family homes started to be built. A few years later, Ventura at Turtle Creek condos were built. The natural wildlife corridors of Viera East are home to a variety of animals, including American bald eagles, Sandhill cranes, alligators, deer, foxes, and bobcats. Which also means living on the Viera East Golf course can be exciting. Options to call home near the golf course include half duplexes, townhomes, and single-family homes. Leaving the Rockledge area/32955 we are going to the North Melbourne/Suntree/Baytree/Viera area, OR the 32940. The most options to live on or near a golf course are in this section of Brevard County.

The OG of this area is the Suntree Country Club, which is a private members-only country club that has 36 holes of golf to play on. The Classic course was one of the first official tour stops for the Senior PGA Tour players through the eighties and the early nineties. The Challenge course was designed by Arnold Palmer and will challenge even the best of players. The course plays through marshlands, canals, lakes, and an active bird and wildlife sanctuary. The good news is that you do not have to have a membership to live on the Suntree Country Club Golf Course. Even better news, because of the size of all 36 holes & fairways, you have a lot of options to choose from. Single family homes built in the late 1970s to early 2000s range in size from 1600SqFt to over 6000Sqft. Townhomes are the other option that were built between the early 1980s to mid 1990s. Baytree National Golf Links and Community are located right next door. Built-in 1992, the championship course at Baytree National was designed by Gary Player. He created generous and playable fairways for this Signature Course, mounded on the sides with moguls in a link style. You will not have players on parallel fairways hitting into you at Baytree National. Besides the great golf course, there are amazing homes situated around this award winning golf course. Custom homes that were built in the 1990s to early 2000s ranging from 4000SqFt to 7000SqFt are not uncommon. Yes, there are homes in the 1600 to 3000SqFt size too. Duran Golf Course is located in West Viera. When playing at Duran Golf Club, golfers will find a layout with links-style characteristics, presenting wide driving areas, native grasses, and mild mounding around large, undulating greens. The award winning course is very playable for those who navigate their way around the course’s subtle challenges. Besides the 18 hole course, Durans also has a par 3, 9 hole course called Chipper’s Walk that is fully luminated offering the opportunity to play later in the day. Large estate style homes surround the Duran Golf course. Wyndham Estates have homes from 3500 SqFt to over 8000 SqFt. The other communities on the Duran golf course start at 2100SqFt and go up from there. Homes in West Viera are newer. The first homes built around the Durans Golf Course happened in 2006 and they are still building in the area today.
