Cocoa Beach in December

Mr and Mrs Claus

I am sure every city has some great events scheduled for December to celebrate Christmas and the Holidays…street parades, boat parades, breakfast with Santa, themed 5k runs…and many more…Cocoa Beach has these on their schedule, plus a couple others you probably will not see anywhere else! Find out what is happening and when they are on the calendar!!

Saturday, December 8th is a busy day in Cocoa Beach with events happening throughout the day. Breakfast with Santa, a 5K run, Street Parade, Boat Parade, and Winterfest!!!

You can start your day with breakfast with Santa at the Cocoa Beach recreation center located at 321 Ramp Road in Cocoa Beach. You get a pancake breakfast, a photo with Santa and a stuffed stocking for $15. Reservations are recommended & you can get more info by calling 321-868-3252

The Cocoa Beach Street Parade is from 2pm to 4pm. The parade route starts near 4th St north on A1A and goes to downtown Cocoa Beach. Updates can be found on their facebook page https://www.facebook.com/events/452778861435073/

Cocoa Beach Winterfest in downtown Cocoa Beach is from 2pm to 9pm where we will have SNOW in Cocoa Beach!!! No, the Heat-Miser did not lose a bet with his Brother Snow-Miser, this is the 3rd annual tradition of having a snow machine pump snow onto the Cocoa Beach city hall. PLUS, there will be stilt walkers, a train ride, vendors & of course Santa Claus!! More info can be found on Downtown Mainstreets web site https://mainstreetcocoabeach.com/cocoa-beach-events/winter-festival-cocoa-beach-main-street-2/

The Cocoa Beach boat parade sponsored by the Rotary Club. This annual event starts at the Bicentennial Park on sr520 and meanders through the Banana River and canals south to the Cocoa Beach Country Club. The boat parade starts at 6 and goes till 10. Of course, you can enjoy the after boat parade show of the boats all heading back to their home port.

Reindeer Run is a great 5k that is hosted by our neighbor to the North, the city of Cape Canaveral. You can add this event to your already full December 8th. Starting 8am at Cherie Down Park located at 8492 Ridgewood Avenue. This is always a fun 5K that benefits the Brevard Sheriff’s  Charities Inc YCD Program. More info can be found on their facebook page https://www.facebook.com/events/295267234654239/

December 15th is an amazing event that will be held on the beach at the Cocoa Beach Pier. It is the Skydiving Santa’s. Besides being able to put your toes in the sand in December, this is a super fun event to watch. This will be from 11am to 4pm just south of the Cocoa Beach Pier. You will want to arrive early because this event draws thousands of people to watch hundreds of Santas Skydive to the beach. The video below was taken at the inaugural Skydiving Santas.

December 24th see the Surfing Santas! This is a great event raising money for a great cause, the Grind for life. The Surfing Santa’s has been going on in Cocoa Beach for 9+ years and is a Christmas Eve’s morning tradition that starts at 8am. This is another event that draws thousands of people to the sandy beaches of downtown Cocoa Beach in front of Coconuts on the beach.

Surfing Santa

It is fun seeing the hundreds of surfers dressed up as Santa, Elves, Reindeer, and the Grinch. There will be the sun, surf, Surfing Santa, food, drink, music and much more. If you plan on attending, be patient and arrive early. Parking is tight because of how many people come to downtown Cocoa Beach. I recommend parking a few blocks out and enjoy a walk down the beach or get on a bike and ride.

This event is a fundraiser for Grind for life. The mission of the Grind For Life organization is to provide financial assistance to cancer patients and their families when traveling long distances to doctors and hospitals. In addition, we educate and inspire these patients and families concerning cancer survival and recovery with Mike Rogers Story a Two Time Sarcoma Survivor. Those who qualify may request assistance for travel and lodging expenses, meals, and personal needs. More info can be found on their website http://www.grindforlife.org/

As you can see, Cocoa Beach is a great place to be to celebrate the Holidays. I know I will be at most of these events & I hope to see you there too. If you are not going to be in the Cocoa Beach area during the month of December, let us know in the comments below what fun events your town is having to celebrate the Holidays!
